I am continuing in my "Back to the good old days" phase where I want things to be real and not faux. I'm also continuing in my love of bulap and I loved the idea of doing burlap stockings for my old-fashioned Christmas. I pulled out some burlap and an old sheet that I had cut up for another project and set to work.
I cannot draw to save my life so I just used one of those cheap stockings you can get for a dollar. This was the most expensive part of the project!
I really wanted to use some Christmas plaid for the top of the stocking. After searching several stores and not finding what I liked, I finally decided to sacrifice an old scarf for the cause. The price was right :)
I used some old scrapbook paper to make name tags. I think they look pretty spiffy :). Cost of 5 new stockings.....$1 for the pattern!
Another project I've done with the help of my sweet husband, is a new large chalkboard for above the Fireplace. I was inspired by some pictures from the internet. I painted a large piece of plywood with chalkboard paint and got my husband to frame it with an old pallet that sat out in the weather for a long time. I LOVE how it turned out. I am working on the fancy lettering...but need some work :). I also added burlap garland to our tree to match the stockings a little bit. I'm thinking about a barn star for a topper.
Your crafts look fabulous!! :-)
