Couch to 5K Week 1 Day 1 (Rewind)


In 2009 I attempted to do the C25K and got about four weeks into it before a knee injury caused me to stop.   In 2010, I completed the full nine weeks of training.  I wasn't fast, but I could run for 30 minutes.   I didn't really enjoy it, but I did feel accomplished and healthier.   Alas...I didn't stick with it and fell back into my couch potato ways.   I'm pretty sure that I attempted it again in 2011 and 2012 but didn't complete it.   So here I am in 2013.   In 50 days I will be 50 years old.   I think I might do another 5K in my 50's (minus the broken tooth this time....long story.)

So tonight (in honor of my sister whose dream it is to be a sweaty mess when her knees allow it) I went down and got on my treadmill and broke a sweat for her :).   It wasn't pretty.  It wasn't very fast.   It really was more of a wog (walk/jog kinda shuffle) instead of a jog.  But I completed the full 25 minutes of Week 1 Day 1.  http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml
