Birthday Celebration Month Day 8: Celebrating Lifelong Friendships

“After the keen still days of September, the October sun filled the world with mellow warmth...The maple tree in front of the doorstep burned like a gigantic red torch. The oaks along the roadway glowed yellow and bronze. The fields stretched like a carpet of jewels, emerald and topaz and garnet. Everywhere she walked the color shouted and sang around her...In October any wonderful unexpected thing might be possible.”

Today I celebrated by going out to lunch and antique and furniture window shopping with  my friend Pam.   We have been friends since Jr. High School.  We have talked about everything under the sun together.  Back then it was cute boys, pesky brothers and sisters, disco music, what our lives would look like when we grew up, and how unreasonable our parents could be.    In recent years it has been our aches and pains, cute husbands, our great brothers and sisters, television shows, how perfect we were when we were growing up, and how unreasonable our children can sometimes be :).    Ahh...the circle of life!   I'm so glad that God saw fit to give me a forever friend in Pam!  I can just see us in our old age talking about our grandchildren :).
