Today I celebrated by going to a Ladies Fellowship up at Eastview Baptist Church. We made treats for the Harvest Festival which is coming up on the 26th of October. If you know me, you know that I am not very "artsy" and so I need safe jobs like unwrapping the candy :) Give me a book to study or teach and I am on it, but decorating something is not in my wheelhouse! My friend Katie, to build up my confidence, told me that I would do fine and that she doesn't fire people. She assigned me the job of making a mouse out of kisses, and then after looking at the one I produced, promptly gave me a safer job! :). I'm pretty sure that meant I was fired...but in the nicest way :). I did manage to produce some okay looking acorns and turkeys though. I'm stretching myself as I turn 50!
A successful acorn....don't look too close! |
My messy turkeys...still need eyes, beaks and feet. |
I am so grateful that God gives us all different gifts and that he puts us together to make us more effective. I loved hearing all of the reminiscing that was going on as some of these ladies have been friends for a very long time. I'm so glad that God is giving me a chance to get to know these wonderful women.
"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." Proverbs 31:30
Looks like fun! I plan to make "cakeball eyeballs". And they will have red veins and be scary! LOL
