FALL'S PALLET
"Dogwood colors change
branches spread, red leaves dance
October shimmers."
-Dorothy Alves Holmes
After a short interruption in my celebration for back pain, I'm back! The pain in my back is subsiding. I think I might live after all :).
Today, the sweet Deacon's and their wives from Eastview Baptist took us to Springfield to a restaurant called Torino's for our birthdays. If you grew up in Clarksville, you might remember the old Charlie's Steakhouse that burned down in Oak Grove? It was legendary around these parts. Well...it turns out they have combined it with their Greek/Italian restaurant in Springfield. The steaks there are HUGE! Mike and I split a 20 oz steak and it was delicious. They gave us cards with $50 in them! And, the wait staff from the restaurant did the whole big clap their hands and sing us Happy Birthday and bring us a piece of strawberry short cake! . I think that was a first for both Mike and I. We are usually too shy to go for that...but when you are turning 50, you have to step out of your comfort zone a bit :). Thank you Katie Gee, because I know that you were the ring leader behind the whole celebration :). Thank you all for helping to make my birthday month greater. Thank you God for putting these wonderful people in my life.
"You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." Psalm 16:11
