New Year's Resolutions: January Update

As I do most years,  on January 1, 2014,  I made New Year's Resolutions.  In order to keep them in the forefront of my mind, I like to report on them.  It helps keep me accountable.  I started reporting last year, and I noticed that even when I didn't meet all of my goals, I did make significant progress in all areas.  For example, last year a couple of my favorite accomplishments were that I lost 21 lbs (Go me!) and I read through the Bible.  Last year I reported to my sisters, but this year, I thought I would share on my blog.

2014 Resolutions:  Be more like Jesus!
“And Jesus grew in wisdom, and stature and in favor with God and man.”  Luke 2:52

2. Come up with a system to pray intentionally for people (prayer journal) and then do it.
January:  I am keeping a prayer journal.   I focused on praying for my husband for 31 days. I also prayed for my children, my extended family, people in my church, and some long distance friends who are ill.

3.  Continue to make progress on writing the scripture in my own hand.

January:  I wrote the book of Galatians

Social:

1.  Make lunch dates 1/month with one of the ladies from the church with the intent of building a relationship.

January:  I invited a new lady who visited our church to have lunch with me and she did.

2.  Invite someone into my home (entertain) at least 1/month.

January:  I had two ladies come to visit me in my home.

Dream:

1.  Save money for a trip to Israel.  Research and plan the trip.

January:  I saved $115 and have asked several friends who have been to Israel questions.  I have also done some internet research.

Did you make any resolutions this year?  Are you still thinking about them?   There is a long time left in this year.  You can still make progress!  It is a marathon, not a sprint.
