Our Fixer Upper
In a previous blog I showed the before pictures.
You can see that here
Broken fascia on the back of the house |
Mike repairing it. At one point he was up on the roof hanging over the side in a rainstorm. It was a challenge to avoid the electrical wires. |
fascia is as good as new after repairs. |
Plumbing was a major issue in the house. When we turned the water on, there were clogs and leaks throughout the house. The toilets were so nasty we ended up deciding to replace them.
Nasty moldy bath tub |
The toilets were a loss, so Mike threw them in the front yard. I'm sure our new neighbors were worried, but they are now safely at the dump. |
After replacing the toilet and re-plumbing the sink in the back bath, we now have a working half bathroom! Yay Mike! (I forgot to take a picture of the finished product for this blog) |
We decided to gut the kitchen |
Kitchen is mostly ripped out. We kept the sink for now. Mike tore out the soffet and cabinets. He also removed the decorative wall and peninsula between the dining room and kitchen. |
Mike widened the door between the living room and dining room. |
He is blocking in the door from the kitchen into the living room. He still needs to panel the kitchen side. We will use the paneling from where he widened the other door. |
We are converting Bedroom 3 to an on suite bathroom and walk in closet for the new master bedroom (Bedroom 2 in before pics) Here are new cut outs for the doors from the new master bedroom. |
wall constructed between what will be the on suite bathroom and walk in closet. Mike still needs to bust out the existing closet wall. |
Since we are getting a new walk in closet for Bedroom 2 (new master) we are giving the old master bedroom (Bedroom 1 in before pics) his and hers closets. |
Mike busted down the wall in the basement between the garage and the front part of the basement. |
I also do the bleach on th he paper towel thing for resistant stains. Every time I visit the bathroom, the give it another squirter with a spray bottle I have handy.
ReplyDeleteIt does work great, and I learned that trick in some of the older quarter that we lived in through the years! But, I don't think I have ever had quite the challenge that this tub poses :).
DeleteWow. Feels like I tuned in to HGTV! Awesome work you guys! Very cool.
