Our Fixer Upper (Weeks 3 and 4)

Our fixer upper is coming along.  Lots of structural work has to happen before we can get to the pretty stuff.   Mike has been working hard and I have been shopping hard :).   If you want to catch up, you can see our before pictures here and the first two weeks here.

Our Fixer Upper
Our new appliances are in!  These are from the Samsung
Black Stainless Steel Collection.
Baggett Heating and Cooling have been busy insulating our
house and installing the new HVAC system.

New HVAC
Alford's Plumbing is helping Mike to "Keep the wife
in hot water!" by installing a new gas tankless water heater.
They also ran a gas line to our new fire place.  Mike put
this together and  is going to eventually rework this fireplace,
but we needed something to hook up.  Alford's Plumbing
also ran the gas line to this.
Mike has been focusing on framing, putting drywall
up and mudding.  Here is where he blocked in the doors
from the hallway are blocked in to make our new
walk in closet.
Mike and Enrique had framed this wall between the bathroom and
closet, but Mike and I decided we needed to have a little more
room in the bathroom...so Mike moved it over.   Easy right?
Because we moved the bathroom wall...Mike had to drywall
in the door that he had cut to go into the bathroom.  Now there
will be a pass through from the bathroom into the walk in closet.
Mike framed and put up drywall to block in the exisiting closet.
He cut a hole and opened it from the other side to make an extra
closet in the other bedroom.

I have kept the delivery people busy by shopping
for lots of new fixtures for the house.  It's like
Christmas around here!
Mike is over there tonight with the intent of finishing up all of the wall repair (drywall, mudding) to get ready to hopefully prime everything tomorrow!   I didn't get a picture of it, but the underlayment and most of the new flooring has come in and I love it.   We are still waiting on the vinyl flooring to come in for the bathrooms.   Hopefully in the next blog you will get to see it.   Stay tuned!
