"October's poplars are flaming torches
lighting the way to winter."

Today's celebration was with my beautiful creative daughter Christy. I decided to go to Moe's in Nashville and get my free burrito for my birthday. We had fun chatting and eating our food and then walked around the mall looking for a bookstore that didn't exist. Then we decided to come back to Clarksville. I am so directionally challenged that on the way back home, I decided to go East on 24 for some reason rather than west, even though I have done it a million times. So Christy and I are rolling down the road for quite a while when we decided we really need to stop to go to the restroom. When I get back on the interstate I still am thinking that I need to go East....so we are half way to Alabama and I am thinking "Man this trip is taking a long time!." I start to realize that the exit numbers are going the wrong way and clue in to the fact that I have been driving the wrong way for a very long time. Duh!
When we get back to the I-24/I-40 split we sat in traffic for about an hour not moving at all. I finally decide to bail out and try to find 41-A which took another few hours. Traffic everywhere! Somehow we end up smack down on Music Row in Nashville. Christy started to make up a rap about the situation :). I don't remember it but some of the words were traffic, tragic, pee, and times three :). We finally get back to Clarksville only to run into more traffic on Madison Street where there was a bad motorcycle wreck. Christy kept a great attitude and she will forever be my favorite person to go to Nashville with :) Although she might never want to get in the car with me again :). When you go on a trip with me, you are always likely to have a big adventure. So...my free burrito ended up costing me quite a bit when you figure I used more than a half a tank of gas in the Prius. Thanks Christy for helping me celebrate and for putting up with the long, long, looooooong trip home. I love my Christy girl!
