My Country Art Gallery

For years I have had a beautiful picture over my couch of Jesus overlooking Jerusalem.  It was given to us by a couple in the first church where Mike was the Pastor and it has had a lot of meaning to us, but after almost 20 years, I am ready for something different.

While I was searching the web for some ideas, I saw a picture where someone had put a shelf behind the couch, and used it as an art gallery.   I really liked that idea, so I had Mike build me two shelves that run the length of the couch.

In many of the places that I have lived, I have had built ins, and I could decorate shelves seasonally, which I love to do.   In this small house, I haven't had much space to do that, but with the addition of the shelves, I can decorate to my hearts content!  I also think that it matches my style a little bit better.   It was always hard to find art work that would "go" with my picture of Jesus.

What do you think?

  2. He is awesome! When putting the shelves up, the stud finder kept pointing to him :).
