Taste October.
Apples, crackers and sharp gold cheese,
Last grilled hamburger of the season,
Farm-ground sausage, pepper-laced,
Warm yeast bread from an old recipe,
Sure sustainer through a hard winter.

Today I went to the Doctor for my women's annual check up. Since I haven't gone for the last three years, I thought it was time to make sure everything is still healthy. They are also scheduling me for my mammogram. While I'm not EXACTLY celebrating over this, I am glad to have it out of the way and will be glad to get the results back to ease my mind. I really think I am fine as far as all of that is concerned.
Another benefit of going in today was that I mentioned my back pain. She gave me a steroid shot. (Yes, I took a shot with only a very controlled freak out :) I have a phobia of shots that is just not rational. I know that I over react, but when they tell me they are going to give me a shot, and then make me wait a few minutes before they do it, anxiety just takes me over. It is crazy, but I can't seem to help it. She didn't even hurt me :). She also prescribed me some muscle relaxers and will be setting me up for an MRI. So far, I am feeling kind of dizzy from the muscle relaxers, but my upper back still hurts. The sciatic pain I was having has mostly subsided. Hopefully, I will wake up pain free? Anyway, I am very grateful for Medical Personnel and prescription drugs and test that can help us to get better and be healthy!
I know this is just an animation...but it describes my back perfectly! :) |
