Bathroom Renovation: Day 2

Today is faux granite day.   Both Mike and I tried some practice sheets before getting started.  

Me:   "Uh....I read yesterday that some people did their counters with Stone Spray Paint.   I wonder if the resin makes the texture smooth?"  

Mike:   "I need to go you tube it some more."   (goes down to his computer)

Me: (goes and googles DIY faux granite)

Mike:  "I think I've got it now...I think you won't see the results until you try it on a bigger palate."

Me:  "You know if we mess up we could always just paint it white and start over..."

Mike: (starts dabbing on the counter top.)

Me:  (goes and googles DIY Stone Spray Paint Counter tops.)

Me:  It is actually starting to look a little bit better.

Mike:  I think so to, but we are going to need more paint because we should have started with a darker base paint.

Me:  (Goes and buys more paint, considers buying Stone Spray Paint, just in case...)

Mike:  (keeps dabbing, and dabbing, and dabbing some more until finally....)

Me:  "I knew you could do it the whole time!"

How close did he come to the inspiration sample?

It is hard to tell in this picture because my flash was off...but he did really good!
