Today's job was to apply the Resin to the top of the countertop. It's time to make it shine!
We used Famowood Glaze Coat from Lowes |
It requires precise measuring |
It also requires precise timing |
Just pour it on... |
Spread it out |
Spread some more. Do it quickly! You only have about 20 minutes before
you are in trouble and it will begin to harden. |
Use the blow dryer to blow out any bubbles that form in
the resin. |
Several hours later a shiny counter top! |
A close up. |
Supplies used on redoing the countertop:
7 bottles of craft paint
1 sea sponge
2 foam paint brushes
Famowood Glaze Coat Resin
Total Cost for Countertop $43.70. Pretty Good!
Now we get started on the wood part of the vanity...
Mike also began to cut the moulding for the vanity. |
Mike primed the moulding and glued it to the cabinet doors. |
A close up of the old door with new moulding. |
Remarkably, we did not need to go back to Lowes today :). Normally during a project we have to go many times. We will have to make a trip for some more moulding tomorrow though.
Stay tuned for more remodeling adventures!
