Another Cedar Chest Redo

My last project was this cedar chest that someone gave my mother.  It was sitting up in their garage, and in pretty rough condition.   I know that a lot of people love the wood inlay, but I am not very fond of it.  I decided that I wanted to use this as a coffee table in my living room.   

I had some leftover paint from doing my night stand.  You can read about that here. I decided that I wanted the chest darker than the night stand, so I used some of the antique walnut stain over the blue paint after distressing it a little bit.   After sanding down the top, I used gel stain antique walnut and polyurethane to refinish the top.

Here is the final result.  Try not to be distracted by the cute little lump on my couch.
